On Saturday I went up to the Woodmont Day Camp to meet Heather and Tim. They’ll be getting married there this July, and we wanted to do a site viewing. I like to include a site viewing in my wedding packages if I haven’t yet photographed a location and if time permits. It helps me to envision unique ideas to bring to the wedding, and it’s a great opportunity to talk with the couple about their plans for the day. We took the opportunity to do an engagement shoot. It was a nice way to get to know each other at the venue where they’ll be married.
This was my first shoot using my new lens. It’s a superwide angle zoom, and the glass is so beautiful that even at 14mm, there is really minimal distortion on the edge of the frame. This was one of the first images of the day, and as soon as I saw it – with Heather and Tim standing in the sunlight and the way the tree limbs become so dramatic above them – I fell in love with it. It really seemed to capture that feeling of being in love and beginning something so exciting as a marriage.
The whole shoot was really playful and sort of just casually happened as we were walking around and talking about their wedding day.
By the end of the day, I was madly in love with Heather’s gorgeous facial structure, and with the way Tim’s sweet eyes look at her. I can’t wait to photograph them at their wedding day in this really inspiring place!
