Design Time 2

Today was the day I got to hand over Sam & Lisa‘s wedding album!  It was so much fun to see Lisa’s mom and aunt again when they came to pick it up, and it was exciting to see how they liked the album.

Sam & Lisa chose the Ambiance book in a square format.

They picked out a little over 60 images from their wedding, which I had custom printed, and arranged by hand.  The matt options are numerous, so we were able to make a lot of different configurations to show off the pictures in the best way to tell the story of their day.  I always focus on including a lot of 5x7s and 8x10s.

It was great to see the black & whites next to the color.  The black & white images from film were handmade in the darkroom by the ever-talented, Frank Marshal.

In the past, I’ve had brides who made their entire Ambiance albums in black & white, converting the color files to b/w, even.  That’s also a lovely choice.

Now that the new manufacturer took over the Ambiance book (the same great company that does my flush-mount album), it comes in a variety of cover options – including the lush, black leather that Sam liked – and a delicious black, leather box lined in velvet.

I also sent Ed & Mitzie their thank-you notes the other day.

They chose the single-image folded card with matching envelopes, and we printed a personal message inside.  I found a font for them that looked Celtic, to go with their wedding theme.

So much fun!

  1. You do such beautiful work, Hillary!!! We can’t wait for you to photograph our special day in July!!! Were Sam and Lisa married at West Park Winery? I think that I recognize the background…makes me soooo excited!!!
    🙂 Think Spring, Erika

    1. That’s right, Erika! Sam and Lisa were married on the hilltop at West Park Winery and had their reception in the tent next to the building. It was super-hot day! Thinking about it while putting their album together has been keeping me warm this winter. Spring, spring, spring… 🙂
